What are the subjects taught in B.Pharm?

The B.Pharm course is a degree course in Pharmacy. It is a four- years full-time course that includes theory classes and laboratory practicals. Several subjects are included in the four years degree course. The marking system is based on continuous evaluation and theory and practical assessment internal and University-based examinations. The marks are converted into credits. The year-wise subjects are as follows:

Remedial subjects:

  • Mathematics (Theory)- For students who did not study Mathematics in the HSC examination.
  • Biology (Theory and Practical)- For students who did not study Biology in the HSC examination.

Also note that the examinations for the remedial subjects and Communication skills theory and Practical will be conducted by the subject experts in the college and not by the University.

Industrial Training:After the end of Semester VI, students have to take an industrial training for 150 hours(four weeks) in any department of industry or hospital and provide a report of the training.

Practice School: In the seventh Semester, students have to take a 150 hours of Practice school. The committee at PCI will decide the domains for the practice school from time to time. Students have to submit a report of the same after completion of 150 hours. The subject experts in the college will evaluate the skills acquired by the student in this school.

Project work: Students of the eighth (VIII) Semester have to undertake project work in a group of not more than five students per group. The subject of the project work should be based on one of the elective subjects opted by the student. On completion of the project work, students have to individually provide copies of project work in the bound and soft format. An external examiner will be appointed to evaluate the project work during the University practical examination.
