Q. Can I do Pharm D after B.Pharm?
Ans.Pharm D is a doctoral course in Pharmacy. If you have completed B.Pharm you may further study Pharm D (Post Baccalaureate). This course is of three years duration. These three academic years are divided into two years of academic classes and one year of internship or residency.
After B. Pharm. there is no need to do the Pharm D. course of six years. You can take admission for Pharm D (Post Baccalaureate) directly for the three-year course.

What is the scope of D Pharm?
Ans:After completing D.Pharm and getting registered as a ‘Registered Pharmacist’. You can work in community pharmacy settings.
You may either work in a retail Pharmacy store or a medical shop or you may have your retail pharmacy store. The following is the scope of work as a pharmacist in a medical store:
• Manage the inventory and storage facility for all medicines and other products.
• Handle and study the prescription given by the doctor and dispense the medicines.
• Give the necessary advice and counselling to the patient.
What are the Pharmacy courses available in India?
Ans:In India, if you choose to get into the pharmacy after completing 10+2 in the Science stream, you have the following career options approved by the governing body of Pharmaceutical sciences- The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The following Pharmacy courses are available in India:
• Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)- Two years course after 10+2 Science
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)- Four years course after 10+2 Science
• Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm)- Two years course after B.Pharm
• Doctor of Pharmacy(Pharm D)- Six years course after 10+2 Science or passing D Pharm

After completing M. Pharm. or Pharm. D. you may also pursue a doctoral degree in Pharmacy (Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences) from an approved University.
